Nothing happens, the dialogue is stodgy and grim, the characters are wafer-thin, the attempts at colouring in locations and relationships cursory.
The problem with a lot of thrillers is that the main characters seem to exist in a world in which thriller novels don’t exist, so suspicious actions that send off loud alarm bells in the average reader’s mind are invariably rationalized or ignored by the protagonists.

Kia Lilith rated it did not like it Jun 11, Frances Barber’s narration is okay however she doesn’t have a vast range of voices and the speech pattern is almost the same for each character especially if they are reading lists of actions. The real action in the novel begins a week before Christmas, when a major explosion rocks Stockholm.
