Normally I enjoy Lilith Saintcrow’s work, but this one just irked me the whole time. The protagonist exhibits almost no agency until maybe the last quarter of the. It’s bad enough that Selene is part slave to Nikolai, the Prime Power of Saint City, but she’s got her brother Danny and she’s got her job at the college. Lilith Saintcrow is an American author of urban fantasy, historical fantasy, paranormal romance She has also published several short stories  and the free online serial Selene (with characters from her Dante Valentine series).

Amazon Renewed Refurbished products with a warranty. I say this so that you will be warned prior to reading that this includes all activities including sex, death and magic. She spends two thirds of this book whining, and railing against her fate. Is it hinted at? I love Selene, even though she is really hard-headed about some things. However, Selene took way too long to get her act sainhcrow, in my opinion.
When she decided to release the whole things as a novel, combined with two short stories I’d also missed, I was ecstatic. I usually take issue with their books and their contents. Though Selene gets on my nerves with her running hither and thither, Nickolai is an antihero who can’t be denied. I am really glad to read Selene’s story.

Really Selene, would getting Nikolai to say ‘please’ really fix all of your issues? The glimpse of her relationship with Nikolai that I got in the Dante Valentine books struck me as one that really had a wealth of intrigue just waiting to be explored.
Yeah, I’m off Saintcrow. I loved how this writer is one of the few actually managing to create believably old and powerful characters. I have supported her writing and her varied novels but I don’t appreciate what she has done with Selene. View all 10 comments. Unexplained, confusing plot devices lipith never resolved Danny’s voice in Alright, I quite literally just finished the saintcriw moments ago and I can only say I can deal with some “denial” about how she doesn’t get he loves her, but it reaches some silly levels as the novel goes along.
