This book did have a heavier focus on the romance than her other series did, but it wasn’t unexpected and the romance worked for the most part. Jul 03, Kristen rated it liked it Shelves: Feb 19, Cyndi rated it it was amazing.
It seemed as though the author decided that if a bit of torture for Adrienne and Hawk worked, then a lot of torture would work even better. There was reason but I just don’t like that in what is supposed to a jaren novel.
Book Review – Beyond the Highland Mist by Karen Marie Moning
I thoroughly enjoyed this book, which probably means I’m a hopeless romantic. I hate my ovaries. By Karen Marie Moning. I don’t want to read about my hero tthe too early and running away ashamed!
The way the fairy manipulates the fate of the lead characters is annoying and a bit strange. View all 15 comments. See all reviews.

Some people are ordained for greatness. Well he is clearly very good looking, and he has had many many many many many lovers. Those people usually have a lot of drama in their life. Morning doesn’t keep the angst going too long like she does in fever.

And I was so bored. From the 20th century and New Orlean, Adrienne teleports to the 16th century and Scotland.

I actually liked him, even though I cannot understand how he could fall in love with a woman like Adrienne, but hey, each to his own. While I didn’t love this book, I was intrigued and fascinated by it and the possibilities as the author developed her craft further.
There isn’t much to say about this book except the mobing that this is not the Karen Marie Moning I am used to. I love love love your site. Continue shopping Checkout Continue shopping. Kist didn’t think so. Don’t miss our other titles in the Highlander series. But although Adrienne deals with the time travel very pragmatically apparently because she was brought up in New Orleansshe can not deal with being married to a beautiful man.
Beyond The Highland Mist
She is transported to medieval Scotland so she will be forced to marry our hero but not give him her heart. I am now reading book 2! That’s a really bad visual.
Though Evelinde should be wary of the rumors, she can’t help but be drawn to this warrior Despite her uncertainty about following the promptings of her own passionate heart, Adrienne’s reservations were no match for Hawk’s determination to keep her by his side. Our female misr, is Adrienne de Simone, a 20th century fiery spirit who finds herself time traveling to 16th century Scotland. I thought this book was an intriguing mix of genres.
I hope the rest of the series is better because I love highlander stories. It’s like putting your hand in the fire expecting to get burned. Beyond the Highland Mist was like an unexpectedly tasty morsel ,I just had to finish at one go! Mar 03, Erin rated it liked it Shelves: And you know those pesky Fae….
Of course, the female protagonist resists the male’s raw sexual magnetism. With death and danger looming, these two wounded souls must learn to trust each other; for only love can save them. I don’t know what I expected when I started this novel but highlane the end, it did not work for me at all. It is whiny and definately does not depict the supposed “strong woman of the 20th centurye”. The secondary characters were just as enjoyable, too!
If I must command you to my bed, then so be it. She flaunts his prowess to her equally gorgeous royal and immortal Fae subjects. His sexiness comes of the pages and slaps you in the face, he sweats sex and oozes pure sensuality. Still a wonderful tale of love and Fae whether read or listened to. Take me to 16th century any day, I’m from new Orleans!
